A family business - Hayling Wheelchairs was opened by John and Judith Steward in 2000 at 27 Rails Lane, Hayling Island.
At the shop in Rails Lane there is a large range of products available to help with mobility and independance.
Although called Hayling Wheelchairs the shop has scooters, batteries, tyres, scooter huts, insurance, walkers, bathing aids, perching stools, slippers, wheelchairs - manual and electric - capes, covers, grab rails and many other aids for daily living withing its' walls.
Stairlifts can also be arrange.
We are happy to order items specifically required and there are usually available within a very few days and we will deliver them - free of charge. If we do not have a product available, it is most likely that we can get it, so it is always worth asking!
No problem is too small and we are happy to answer queries or suggest possible solutions.
When thinking about purchasing a wheelchir or scooter we ar ehappy to help you choose the best one for you. When choosing a wheelchair or scooter it is important to think about the size of the rooms it needs to access and, int he case of a scooter, where it can be charged or stored. There are ramps available and also scooter huts to make life easier.
Today, road-using scooters are required, by law, to be registered with the DVLA - at the shop we carry these forms and can help with completing them - at no cost to yourself - the tax disc received needs to be displayed ont he scooter and holders are available in the shop.
We also Hire Scooters - Wheelchirs - Walkers - Commodes - Hoists and other items.
Short term hire i.e. Holiday Breaks at the local Warner Resorts - Lakeside and Sinah Warren and also Mill Rythe - Holiday Cottages - Canute Cottages etc. Can be arranged by either completing the hire sheet and sending it to us or by telephoning the shop.
For people who may have broken their legs/ankles/had operations we have long term hire avaialble, with special reates - with payment made, by invoice, every four weeks. However, once the item is delivered the hire is for as long or short a time needed.
Servicing of Scooters and Wheelchairs is recommended - at least once a year - and we charge £50.00 for a scoooter, and £12.50 for a wheelchair.
